Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026 · Last updated: July 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mercurious, LLC, doing business as PawnShopper (“PawnShopper,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares, and retains personal information when you use the PawnShopper websites and services (the “Service”). Browsing the public directory does not require an account; the account features described below apply when you sign in.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in, our identity provider (Auth0) shares your email address and name with us, and we create an internal account record. We do not receive or store your password.
  • Things you save. Favorites and saved searches you create while signed in.
  • Messages. The contents of messages you exchange with merchants through the Service.
  • Merchant business data. For merchants: shop details, listings, photos, and subscription/billing status. Payment card details are collected by Stripe, not by us.
  • Usage and technical data. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and error diagnostics generated while operating the Service.

2. How we use information

  • Providing and operating the directory, merchant tools, favorites, saved searches, and messaging.
  • Processing merchant subscriptions and billing.
  • Sending transactional email (e.g., message notifications, billing and account notices).
  • Securing the Service, preventing abuse, and debugging errors.
  • Understanding aggregate usage so we can improve the Service.
  • Complying with legal obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and as required by law:

  • Auth0 — authentication and account identity.
  • Stripe — merchant subscription billing and payment processing.
  • Mailgun — transactional email delivery.
  • Railway — application and database hosting.
  • Sentry — error reporting (error events may include technical data such as IP address and account identifiers).

Content you intentionally publish (a merchant’s shop profile and listings) is public by design. Messages you send to a merchant are visible to that merchant. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and its users, and in connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets).

4. Cookies

We use cookies for sessions and authentication only — keeping you signed in and securing requests. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Data retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted or anonymized after account deletion, except where retention is required by law.
  • Message bodies are retained as business records of the merchant correspondence— a conversation is a record for both participants, so a merchant’s copy of correspondence may persist as part of their business records.
  • After deletion, a backup window of approximately 30 days applies before data is purged from backups.
  • Merchant billing records are retained as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal compliance.

6. Your rights and choices

  • Consumers: you can delete your account and export your data yourself from account preferences — no email or support ticket required.
  • Merchants: because merchant accounts carry billing and business records, merchant deletion requests are handled manually — email [email protected].
  • You may also contact us at [email protected] to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.

7. California privacy rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The categories we collect and the purposes are described above. To exercise your rights, use the self-serve tools in account preferences or email [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (such as email to account holders or an in-product notice).

10. Contact
